Tom Cruise flew in to New York by helicopter to support his wife Katie Holmes at her Broadway debut tonight.

The 46-year-old was reunited with his wife and daughter Suri - who have been living in New York for the last few months - as the actress prepared for the opening performance of her first major role in years.

The couple couldn't stop smiling as they embraced outside the Schoenfeld Theatre.

Earlier the 29-year-old was pictured arriving for rehearsals of All My Sons with her two-year-old daughter in tow.


Holmes – in her trademark baggy jeans – even brought along a customised bag with Suri’s name on it.


Producers of the Arthur Miller play have denied claims that the show is failing to sell tickets – revealing advance sales of $3.5 million.

Meanwhile the brunette’s celebrity friends have come out in full force to show their support.

'I am going to be there on opening night. I know she is going to be fabulous,' said actress Jada Pinkett Smith recently.


Earlier this month the star’s former boyfriend and Dawson’s Creek co-star Joshua Jackson revealed that he would also be attending the show.

Holmes is currently working 12-hour days in preparation for her debut.

Previews of the production begin on tomorrow and the Broadway play will open on October 16.


While Holmes and Suri entertain themselves in New York, her husband Tom Cruise has been working in Hollywood, with the couple frequently making cross country trips to see each other.
